Sitting just outside, Chicago, IL
I've been out here about a week since last being home and so far so good. Things have gotten a bit tougher since when I left home the first time for some reason. It's getting terribly hard to leave home. Being a truck driver, you miss so much stuff that goes on at home. It's tough because I don't even know if I will be home for Thanksgiving or even worse, Christmas. If it was tough being out here for Easter earlier in the year christmas is just going to be downright depressing but I have to do what I signed up for. Drive freight around the country and that's what I'm doing.
To anyone who's thinking about driving out here. It's tough, besides following the rules and regulations its just hard to be out here alone. It seems like the first couple days after leaving home are the toughest and then it does gets easier. The one saving grace out here is having a trucking friend. No one, not your wife or girlfriend, best friend since 1st grade, or your parents have any idea what it's like to be out here. I'm lucky enough to have some trucking friends that I can talk to when it get's hard. Thank you to you guys, you know who you are. Hey you, Call me man!
Anyways, heres some random photos from the last week or so. I'm working on a new computer and I don't have photoshop yet so the photo's aren't quite the quality that they would be if I did develop them in Photoshop but they will do for now.
Heading through montana while a wildfire burns nearby... The smoke was thick didn't make me feel to good...

That photo of the bridge in Twins Falls, Idaho is awesome. I saw your comment about the problems with trucking, but keep in mind the saying about the grass being greener on the other side of the fence. There are people working in office cubicles counting the minutes until the end of their shift. Or think of the military folks who are away from their families for months. I envy what you are doing.
