Back to Iowa I go....
Yup, I have another load going back to iowa repeating the same path I took the first time I headed east out here to iowa. It's even to the same customer so I'm glad that I at least know somewhat of where I am and where I'm going. The last couple days have been AWESOME! I picked this load up after a week of so-so runs around california and nevada, nothing exciting and I was getting some very low mileage runs but I got a chance to run out here and I grabbed it! I headed from Los Angeles thru Vegas and up through Utah to I-70 East. I haven't been on this interstate yet and I have been missing out. It's my favorite road that I've been on so far. You travel from low desert to 12,000 ft Mountain Passes deep in the trees. The photos below take you through Utah, Colorado and Nebraska. I deliver my load tomorrow on the 4th of July but since it's a holiday theres no outbound freight so I'll be hanging out and riding my bike around a bit.... Oh yeah, I bought a little inexpensive Specialized mountain bike to take with me out here. I've used it a bunch and I love exploring. I last rode it in Denver and I found some interesting things, old trains and stuff like that. Anyways, enjoy the photos and let me know what you think!!!!
WHOOPS!!! Someone needs a lesson in pallet wrapping. I had to restack and wrap 8 tipped over pallets and then use a hand truck to unload the 22 pallets weighing over 2000lbs each... 44k pounds of gatorade to be exact while the employees watched soccer. I'm not bitter, I swear!
Heading east on I-70 through Utah.
I-70 was just one cool looking cliff after another =)
My mom and I stopped here during one of our summer trips a long time ago. I've always wondered where it was until I came around a turn and knew that this had to be it. It's the most beautiful rest area I've ever stopped in.
The same as above just turned around...
That's I-70 Westbound above me while I cruise along the river looked at all the rafters and holiday weekend bikers and hikers who are along a paved trail that follows the highway and the river.
A river full of rafters enjoying the cool river on a warm summer day...
The sun setting ending another nice summer day...
I started this morning at 3am so by the time I left denver and reached the Colorado and Nebraska border the sun was coming up...
Now for some random photos from the last couple weeks...
Heading West on 58 through California towards Bakersfield.
A gordon Owner Operator in Polard Flats, CA. I really like that color blue with the matching tanks..

Chris, I find your posts very interesting and you have some great photos. I will be starting with Gordon sometime in early September, I am in driving school right now but will be taking a 3 week vacation before heading off to Gordon. I plan on looking at homes in Olympia and going to the corporate office to look before starting my training.

Chris, I love the shots and the stories, great stuff!
I saw a Gordon truck as I drove up from Colorado springs the other day and thought "man, it would be cool if that was Yeti!" but alas, it was an old guy.
